CCSS - Unique Practices for Inclusive Classrooms - Math Reference Guide
The vast majority of states in the U.S. have formally adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), which define the subject-specific knowledge and skills expected of students at each grade level. The CCSS set high academic standards for all students, including those with disabilities; however, they do not detail how to teach or assess students.
This guide is an accessible guide for teachers that clearly presents the eight standards for mathematical practice for grades K-5 and recommends proven instructional strategies that will enable all learners to master critical skills and gain a deep understanding of core math concepts.
This unique guide was developed to help teachers in inclusive classrooms meet the needs of diverse students, including students with learning disabilities who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), as well as English language learners (ELLs) and others. ©2013
