Self-Selected Reading (Four Blocks)

Grades: 1 -5

This resource provides strategies to build intrinsic motivation for reading, introduce children to all types of literature through the teacher read-aloud, encourage children's reading interests, and provide instructional-level reading. Teachers will learn how to collect and use a wide range of reading materials, discover effective ways to conference with students about the books they are reading, and read about the many ways children can share their reading with their classmates.
