Paired Passages Grade 6

Help students develop and practice the skills they need to compare and contrast fiction and nonfiction passages. After each of the 25 pairs of passages, students are asked both multiple-choice and openended questions requiring written responses. Students: • Learn to differentiate between nonfiction and fiction • Build reading comprehension and critical thinking • See how fiction and nonfiction can be connected and • Synthesize information from two contrasting passages.
