Early Childhood Drug Abuse Prevention Program

Young children are involved in developmentally appropriate activities that teach them how to make wise choices, as well as learn about drugs and other substances that can hurt them. Self-esteem, a critical component of an drug prevention program, is emphasized with both children and their parents. Through songs, fingerplays, puppets, bulletin boards, books, art projects, and more, students will learn how best to care for their minds and bodies! They will learn how to say no if offered drugs and alcohol, that they don't need to take drugs to ""fit in"" or feel special, that there are helpful and harmful substances—and that even though medicines help make us healthy, taking too much or not following directions can make us sick, and more.
